Founder of MOL Group
Ganesh Kumar Bangah is the Founder and ex‐Group Chief Executive Officer of MOL Global Pte. Ltd. In this capacity he leads the two wholly owned subsidiaries of MOL Global, namely MOL AccessPortal Berhad (“MOL”), a global online payment service provider and Friendster Inc. (“Friendster”), the world’s pioneer social network. He co‐founded and built MOL from scratch to become one of the biggest online payment service providers in Asia with annual revenues of over USD200Million. MOL today has over 680,000 physical payment channels across 80 countries worldwide and handles over 5,000,000 transactions a month.
In December 2009, Ganesh led MOL Global in the acquisition of 100 per cent of Friendster Inc., a leading global online social network with more than 115 million registered members worldwide. MOL Global today is one of Southeast Asia’s biggest internet companies both in terms of revenue and member base combining the huge member base of Friendster with the content and monetization capability of MOL.
Ganesh was certified by the Malaysia Book of Records as the Youngest Chief Executive Officer of a Public Listed Company in Malaysia when he listed MOL AccessPortal Berhad on the MESDAQ Market of Bursa Malaysia at the age of 23. In 2012, he was the Malaysian Ernst & Young Technology Entrepreneur of the Year and was the Top Winner for the Prestige Top 40 Under 40 2012 Awards. His other awards include the JCI 2009 Creative Young Entrepreneur Award, Technopreneur Excellence Award at the PIKOM ICT Leadership Awards 2009 and the Young Indian Entrepreneur Award 2009. In 2013, Malaysia Tatler listed him in the A‐List of Who’s Who in Malaysia and Top 10 of Malaysia listed him among the 10 most inspiring Malaysian technology entrepreneurs. Recognized as a regional business and technology thought leader, Ganesh was also acknowledged by Society Magazine 2004 as one of the 100 people you must know in Asia.
Ganesh is active in IT industry development and is currently the Treasurer of the National IT Association of Malaysia (“PIKOM”). Ganesh is also a member of the IT Industry Advisory Board at Help University.
Eng Sheng Guan is a seasoned entrepreneur with more than 18 years of experience in the information communication technology (ICT), payment and travel industries.
He has more than 10 years of experience in providing online payment solution for Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and Hong Kong market.
Prior to co-founding MOLPay Sdn. Bhd., Sheng Guan is the founder and chief executive officer of NetBuilder (M) Sdn. Bhd. and NB Travel Sdn. Bhd. Sheng Guan holds a Bachelor degree in Computer Science, University of Southern Queensland, Australia.
Oon Wee Keong leads a team of fraud management and operation in MOLPay. Wee Keong has vast experience in managing numerous websites and holds a good sense of the key success factors in getting websites up and running perfectly.
Prior to co-founding MOLPay Sdn. Bhd., Wee Keong is the co‐founder and COO for NetBuilder (M) Sdn. Bhd. and NB Travel Sdn. Bhd.. He was also a column writer at Sin Chew Daily Press and contributing articles on e‐commerce segment.
Wee Keong holds a Bachelor of Electrical Engineer from Tsing Hua University, Taiwan.
Tan Tek Jau oversees the vital segment of the MOLPay; the technology, research and development, and innovative arm of MOLPay products and solutions. He leads a team of talented employees in the Research and Development (R&D), as well as the System Development departments.
Prior to co-founding MOLPay Sdn. Bhd., Tek Jau is the co-founder and CTO of NetBuilder (M) Sdn. Bhd. and NB Travel Sdn. Bhd. Tek Jau also held various positions such as a database consultant for large corporations such as HsinChu Technology Park in Taiwan and a server administrator and programmer for NCTU Computer Center in Taiwan as well as in SPRING Ltd for more than 2 years.
Tek Jau holds a Master’s Degree in Electronic Engineering from National Chiao Tung University, HsinChu, Taiwan R.O.C.
Kenneth Chang Yit Fei graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering from University of Southampton, United Kingdom and he also holds a Diploma in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the Peoples College of Nottingham, United Kingdom.
He has worked in two local information communications technology‐based companies before joining Berjaya Land Berhad at the end of 1999 where he was subsequently appointed as an Executive Director of MOL.com Berhad (“MOL”), Director in Qinetics Solutions Berhad and several other subsidiaries and associated companies of MOL, including Web Commerce Communications Limited and Asia Web Direct (HK) Limited. Currently, he is also an Executive Director of U Mobile Sdn Bhd.
